Following on from recent posts and concerns raised as a result of letters received from the Council and WDL please see the link below for a summary of the details and plans of the 3 recent applications lodged by Winchburgh Developments Limited to adjust specific elements within the approved Winchburgh Masterplan.
The most recent letter refers primarily to the proposed identification of an alternative site from block E (Glendevon) for the next new primary school to serve Winchburgh to the east of the village – block HH. Please feel free to direct any questions or queries that you may have on these to Robin Matthew, planning consultant to Winchburgh Developments Limited [email protected]
Winchburgh Park and Ride facility
Winchburgh Developments Limited has applied for permission to relocate the park and ride currently shown on Block Z of the masterplan approved under planning permission in principle 1012/P/05 to Block T. Block Z would then become a residential development block. This would move the park and ride from the east side to the west side of the Edinburgh – Glasgow rail line as it passes through Winchburgh. It will still link to the potential new rail station but also provide car parking closer to the new town centre area. The application seeks to change the proposed use of the development blocks only – further development details will come forward separately.
Attached documents:
• up to date Winchburgh masterplan showing development blocks
• proposed block T and Z changes
• written justification

Winchburgh planning permission in principle – proposal to extend permission lifespan
Winchburgh Developments Limited has applied for permission to extend the lifespan of the planning permission in principle that will deliver the strategic expansion of the village. The consent, granted in April 2012 by West Lothian Council currently has a lifespan of 15 years i.e., applications made under the terms of the consent would have to be made by April 2027. For several reasons, including infrastructure delivery (including new schools) and forecast housing delivery, an extension of five years to the lifespan of the planning permission in principle is considered necessary. This application does not affect any other aspect of the planning permission in principle.
