Overview

West Lothian continues to have one of the highest rates of population growth in Scotland, and the 3,450 plus homes that will be built as part of this masterplan will take a significant step forward in ensuring there are new houses available to meet this growing demand.

There is a range of property types being built at Winchburgh designed to suit a variety of needs, from young couples looking to take their first step on the property ladder to growing families and downsizers.

These vary from two and three bedroom apartments to three, four and five bedroom terraced, semi-detached homes, townhouses and detached properties. Importantly, this number will include 700 affordable houses and 400 homes for social rent.

Phase Two Homebuilders

The second phase of building will commence in 2019 and deliver a further 1,000 private and affordable homes by 2025. The site preparation work commenced on 1st April 2019.

The first development of 93 homes within phase two shall be built by Bellway in a prime position next to Auldcathie District Park.

Further housing within this phase will be built by CALA, Barratt, J. Smart & Co. and others.

Phase Two will also provide further affordable housing and homes which will be available for social rent.
