The Scottish Home Awards 2019 shortlist is now out, and among the contenders for Large Affordable Housing Development is West Lothian Housing Partnership’s new development at Winchburgh.
The category recognises new social housing developments which create a new community, successfully combining affordability with desirable homes.
To date, a total of 96 new affordable housing units for social rent have been completed at Winchburgh in the new town centre. 55 of these have been built by West Lothian Housing Partnership, part of Wheatley Group, and a further 41 by West Lothian Council.
When complete, Winchburgh will deliver at least 700 affordable homes, of which 400 will be for social rent.
The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony in Glasgow on Thursday 13th June.
John Hamilton, CEO, Winchburgh Developments Limited commented: “The new homes that have been delivered by West Lothian Housing Partnership in Winchburgh have been an important addition to the community here in an area where demand for homes is high. It’s great to see that they are being recognised at this year’s Scottish Home Awards, and I wish them the best of luck at the awards in June.”
The Scottish Home Awards is Scotland’s largest independent awards programme which promotes, highlights and celebrates excellence in new build housing, design, marketing and customer care across the housebuilding industry, while also recognising the developers, housing associations and councils who are creating the very best in the sector across Scotland.
